Estimated reading time: 2 minute
The Guidance and Psychological Counseling Department of Izmir Private Saint-Joseph French High School, drawing attention to the importance of guidance, peer bullying, and a positive school climate, conducted an awareness-raising session with our students on the topic of "setting boundaries and peer bullying" in order to support a positive school climate.

The purpose of the study
One of the main goals of this study is to raise awareness about peer bullying through guidance and support, thereby establishing a positive school climate. This involves enabling our students to recognize their personal boundaries, respect the boundaries of others, and recognize and take appropriate steps against peer bullying. Our aim is a more respectful and stronger school environment where every student feels safe and valued.
What was discussed?
The presentation covered the following topics with our students: Guidance, peer bullying, and the impact of positive school climate concepts on daily life were illustrated with examples.
- What are personal boundaries, how do you set boundaries, and why is saying "no" important?
- What is peer bullying, and in what forms does it occur (verbal, physical, social, digital)?
- What should a student who is being bullied or witnessing bullying do, and who can they get support from?
- How can safe friendships and a supportive classroom environment be established?
Awareness, support, positive school climate.
Let's not forget that guidance counseling, peer bullying prevention, and fostering a positive school climate are always accessible to our students and parents at our school. Our information sessions will continue throughout the year at different grade levels.
