A Day at Nesin Mathematics Village: A French Mathematics Lesson from Ali Nesin

Tenth-grade students from Izmir Private Saint-Joseph French High School organized a day trip to the Nesin Mathematics Village in Şirince on October 10, 13.10.2026. During this trip, our students had the opportunity to receive a mathematics lesson in French from the village's founder, Prof. Dr. Ali Nesin.

The topics Ali Nesin covered in class gave our students the opportunity to think about mathematics both in French and from a different perspective. As a school where one of the languages ​​of instruction is French, learning mathematics in this language and in such an environment had a special meaning for our students.

On this trip, we discovered once again that mathematics is not just about reaching results. Mathematics is also about asking questions, developing different perspectives, thinking, and interpreting. This special day, filled with curiosity, discovery, and learning, turned into an unforgettable experience for our students.
